6/21/2023 0 Comments Three wire piezo disc![]() ![]() If you use your Y adapter, you'll access your piezo by pulling on the tone pot, that's going to kill the mag pups system. That way, if you use a standard jack to an amp, you'll have a standatd tele config. You wire both system so you have only one system active at the time. You should wire the piezo system to the other side if that p/p pot. ![]() Than you wire up that switch to one side of a push/pull pot. I think the best way to achive what you want is to keep a 3way switch standard tele wiring or a 4 way with a serial position since you have a 4 way switch handy. That's why the FenderFlame wants to use 2 separate amps with 2 outputs. Piezos can be wired in series, that will give you more output. You could also have a push/pull switching from piezo to mag on the same output or enabling 1 of them at the time on different outputs. You could install an acoustic preamp in there and have a mono output for all pups or simply like you said: have the piezo going to it's own output without the switch and use the 4 way to have a serial position. It might be possible to find a stereo pot and use 1 stage for mag and 1 stage for the piezo with a resistor in parallel to lower the resistance. By the way, the pots should be around 25k for a piezo. I don't think you'll be able to use the master tone and volume for all Pups since you want those to be routed to different outputs. It could be done with a superswitch witch has 4 stages of 5 contacts. You want this to mute the neck and bridge in pos 4 and mute the piezo i Pos 1 2 and 3? I might be missing something here but I am not sure it can be done with a simple 4 way switch. I'm after some guidance as to where I can find a wiring schematic that will do this. ![]() If those songs aren't in a particular set then I can use a standard 1/4" lead to the amp and position 4 just becomes a mute. I want this so when we play 'pinball wizard' and Republica's 'ready to go' in my band I can switch between electric and acoustic just using the guitar's 4 way selector and no pedals. It's a hollow chambered tele with quite a thin top and I've got three piezo discs to use as the acoustic pick ups.Ĭan I wire piezos in series or do they have to be parallel? If this won't work I want the piezo straight to output and the standard mag pickups to work as standard through master tone and volume. I want to run everything through master tone and volume on the guitar if I can (no blending). I'll use a 'Y' cable 1/4" stereo to 2 X 1/4" mono) to achieve this. I will run this to a stereo 1/4" output socket with the left channel (all the mag pickup configurations) going to the guitar amp and the right channel (the piezo output) going to an acoustic pre-amp and then on to PA. If anyone can steer me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. I've tried searching the threads for a solution for this and haven't found one yet. Realised I posted this in 'Partscasters' and that this is probably a better place. ![]()
